1. There is no right way to learn to program
Some will say, watch the YouTube tutorial. Again some may say read the book. Someone else might say read the blog on the programming website. I say, there is no right way to learn! Find out for yourself how to learn.
No one knows better than you how you can learn better. So you have to search a little harder on some popular platforms like Google, and YouTube.
If you try multiple ways for a few weeks, you will find your own way of learning. So, be prepared for learning. That way, you can learn better.
2. Don’t listen to most people
It is normal for everyone to have different opinions. Some people will try to discourage you.
Don’t be discouraged or disappoint anyone with it. Instead, take positive advice, trash the negative and move on. You are doing what you should be doing. Keep learning. Keep trying I know you can do it. So let’s get started.
3. Select a programming language, but do not stick to one
Start with a programming language. Try to find good media (websites, blogs, books, videos, applications). However, do not become immovable. You don’t have to stick to that particular programming language.
If you find a good tutorial in another proFirst, write the code of the little things ramming language, replace it. Keep an open mind to read it, try. (Who knows) You may prefer other programming languages over the present.
In my journey, I started with PHP. A few weeks later a friend of mine persuaded me to switch to Java. Then, a teacher told me to learn C #. After using C # in my first job for six months, Switched To JavaScript.
I’ve been using JavaScript for several years now and then, last year I did Python.
Trending Programming Language Available:
Top Trending Programming Languages: (</>) | Average Annual Salary: ($) |
---|---|
1. Python | $ 120,000 (USD) |
2. JavaScript | $ 118,000 (USD) |
3. Java | $ 104,000 (USD) |
4. C# | $ 97,000 (USD) |
5. C | $ 97,000 (USD) |
4. Your plans and timeline will not work
No matter how strong your plan is, it will not work. Things will not go according to plan. So, don’t despair.
You make sure you learn something new every day. Spend at least 2 to 4 hours a day on learning programming. So, don’t go for planning, go for discipline, patience and punctuality. If you can do this, no one will be able to stop you.
5. Just read or watch. Give it a try. Enter the code
Just reading blogs or books and video tutorials will not make you a programmer. In addition, you need to practice. If you can’t install a code editor on your computer, look for and use an online code editor.
If you don’t have a laptop, use a mobile application like Programming Hero, SoloLearn, or AIDE for coding practice. If you are stuck in one way, there are nine other ways!
6. First, write the code of the little things
Don’t try to change the world or create a billion-dollar company with your code in a short time. No one could. Practice coding with only 5 lines or 10-20 lines.
Make a calculator or a simple tic-tac-toe game (Bill Gates started with that!). Or, just reverse the strings, join the arrays, look for the elements and try again and again to get better!
7. Don’t rely on others, rely on Google
If you find someone as your mentor or learning friend, this is great. However, do not wait for them to guide you. Don’t wait for your learning friend to explain something to you.
Instead, use Google. Google knows everything. If you don’t understand something, do a Google search for it. If you are tired of one tutorial, do a Google search for the other there are hundreds of tutorials out there.
Google Everything: Google Search will make you smarter. So, whenever you have any doubts, worries, or curiosities – do a Google search. Ask Google 10 times before asking anyone else.
Search again by changing the search sentence if necessary. There is nothing like Google. You need to learn to search properly. The better you use Google, the better programmer you are.
Then, you’ll discover sites like StackOverflow, Quora, etc. that will open you up to a whole new world of helping friends.
8. Programming is not easy, but it is not impossible
You can’t earn $ 80,000 (USD) a year by learning everything in one day or one week or one month. Time will be needed here. It requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance. You will need to break a sweat here. If you try that level, you can.
Remember that nothing in the world is impossible. Millions of people have done it. Not everyone is smarter than you. True, there are some less smart people. If they can do it, so can you.
